Books
Published 2014 by David Clow
This book is 6 x 9 paper back book, it is what the publisher calls perfect bound, the book contains 280 pages with over 100 black-and-white photographs.
It is a collection of my notes about the Clow family and the McElfresh family along with some information about their related families.
90% of the book is about my grandparents and my great grandparents. My grandparents met and Macoupin County Illinois then moved to St. Clair County Missouri where my dad was born. In the early 20s they moved to Barton County Missouri and this story, the first hundred and 50 pages, follows them through their lives most of which was in and around Lamar Missouri. The next 40 pages reviews the Clow family from 1744 in the state of Delaware, following them West through Ohio and Illinois.
The McElfresh family, my grandmother’s maiden name, first settled in Maryland then Ohio and then finally to Illinois. Other family lines include the Bandys and the Caubys.
The last 40 pages of the book is a genealogical report for the Clow family, the McElfresh family, the Bandy, and the Cauby family. Also included is a pedigree chart for Nell McElfresh and Sanford Clow.

Title… The Joyce and Selvey Families
published 2014 by David Clow
This book is a 6 x 9 paper back book, it is what the publisher calls perfect bound, it contains 300 pages, with over 100 black-and-white photographsThe first part of the book contains a short history of the Joyce family in America. It follows them from Virginia through North Carolina to Indiana and then to Barton County Missouri. Again 90% of this book is about my grandparents and my great grandparents. In Barton County of the Joyces first settled around what is now known as the Boston area. They next move to the Forest Grove area, both in the southern portion of Barton County. The first hundred and 50 pages are about the Joyce family followed by the Selvey family.
Selvey family, again a short history, starting in Virginia and by the 1840s they were in Jackson County Missouri. They endured the Civil War in Jackson County Missouri until order number 11 forced them out of the county. Related families to the Selveys were the Hall family, the Nowlin family, the Stanley family, and the Harris family.
My great grandparents moved to Barton County Missouri during the later part of the 17th century.
This book also contains genealogical reports of the Joyce family, the Selvey family, the Hall family, the Nowlin family as well as a pedigree chart for Estell Joyce and Ethel Selvey Joyce.
